            The Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments, a Trust Authority, is accepting resumes for a Workforce Development Counselor in the Duncan Labor Market Area.  Duties include working with workforce investment system partners to identify people needing assistance to obtain and retain employment; to assist customers in career planning; and, to assist in identifying the workforce needs of local businesses.  Employment plans will be based on a comprehensive objective assessment data and interviews with workforce development customers.  Employment planning may include incorporating education, training, basic and life skills development into the customer’s plan. Workforce Development Counselors serve a wide-range of customers to include area businesses.  Workforce Development Counselor works in Workforce Oklahoma Centers in the South Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Area and will perform their duties and responsibilities as a member as a team member of the workforce center.  The ability to read, interpret, and apply local and state policies and procedures is an essential skill.  Preparing and delivering presentations to groups of 20 or more and small group training are skills and abilities that are pluses for this position.  Leadership, management, and planning experience are desired skills.  Familiarity or ability to quickly learn word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software are essential skills.  Personal transportation is required along with a valid driver’s license and insurance.  Salary range is $25,000 - $30,500.  Send resume and transcript to ASCOG, Attn:  Nancy English, PO Box 1647, Duncan, OK  73534-1647.  ASCOG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
